Residential Curbside Pickup – Where and What We Offer
In order to improve the communities we service, it is important to us to keep the area as clean as possible. With a clean community as a whole we are one step closer to a better environment and achieving the goal of “zero waste”. Residential curbside pickup is a service we offer to have a clean neighborhood.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! Action is happy to once again support the amazing team at Hope & Heroes in their September Initiative “Give Them Hope. Be Their Hero.”
Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for Hope & Heroes, the charitable non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the life-saving work of the pediatric cancer program at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Renowned for its a research-based approach to care, Columbia’s scientists and physicians are revolutionizing the treatment and care of children with cancer and blood disorders.
Last night CEO Ron Bergamini was honored at the Alley Pond Environmental Center Green Gala. Thank you to Council member Paul Vallone for presenting Ron with the award. This annual gala is vital to the organization by raising funds for the center and aids in the resources needed to reach their goal of establishing awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the environment and to preserving nature in an urban setting.
The holidays are synonymous with toys and gift giving. It is a joyous time for most. But, for struggling families it is a time of stress and anxiety. Parents want their children to experience the joy and excitement of receiving the toys of their dreams. Thankfully, holiday toy drives help fill the need.
There will be potential delays or interruptions in service effective Wednesday, July 4, from 12:00 p.m. through 11:59 p.m. on July 4, 2018, due to street closures for the Macy’s 4th of July Annual Fireworks Celebration.
We are more than proud to continue to spread the message for our friends at Hope & Heroes whose mission is to fund the life-saving work on childhood cancer and blood disorders at Columbia University Medical Center. The awareness and donations they raise, goes to treatment and care for local children which gives them their best chance to overcome their disease but also allows them to experience as much of their childhoods as possible.
This September Action is back to show our support for Hope and Heroes! Last year our goal was to raise $20,000 for the charity and this year we are determined to meet our goal! Just like last year, Action will match every dollar raised via our Action donation page www.hopeandheroes.org/action
Dale Carnegie famously said you should always catch people doing something right. With that being said, we would like to take his advice and give a shout out to our driver Bryce Pointer and his helper Donnie McMillan Truck 203 from our Jersey City Action depot for establishing a great relationship with the neighborhoods they service for waste pickup.
