Everyone has heard of the New York City Marathon, yet not many have had the stamina to run it!
Well, our very own Lisa Suarez from our Billing Department will be gearing up to run this year’s New York City marathon and will be joined by her daughter Jenna. The TCS New York City Marathon course runs 26.2 miles through the five boroughs of NYC and is a model for big-city marathons around the world. This is the worlds biggest marathon that bring in around 50,000 runners to New York City every year.
Last week we had the pleasure of presenting our 3rd annual Action Environmental Group scholarship award. The winner was High School Senior Shannon Breun. Our CEO Ron Bergamini and her father IWS Packer Driver, Chris Breun were on hand to present Shannon with her award. Her captivating essay and incredible 4.1 GPA made Shannon the ideal recipient of this award.
In the fall she will begin the journey of receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in American Sign Language at Montclair State University. She fell in love with sign language in High School and wants to become an interpreter for the deaf.
Action would be nothing without the amazing men and women who work with us.
Today we want to highlight the amazing journey of our Billing Manager April Levine. April is an amazing mother of two who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2015. After kicking cancers butt she turned to CKO Kickboxing to learn how to really kick some butt.
We had the pleasure of presenting our 2nd annual Safest Driver of the Year award to Alfred “Mike” Sandoval. Mike’s family was on hand to present him with this honor. Mike and his family won an all-expense paid trip to Disney World for being our safest driver in 2018.

Her captivating essay and incredible 4.71 GPA makes Gianna the ideal recipient of this award.
As unemployment falls to nearly 4 percent, a 17-year low, employers are finding it hard to find the right employees. Expanding the applicant pool to include individuals with criminal records is becoming increasingly necessary and attractive.
We are honored to take part in today’s moment of silence to memorialize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the 50th anniversary of his death. April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. was fatally shot while standing on the balcony outside his second-story room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee. The civil rights leader was in Memphis to support the sanitation workers’ strike rallying for fair wages and safer working conditions.
This past weekend, our Risk Management Team had the honor of presenting our first ever Safest Driver of the Year Award. The winner of this award received an all-expense paid trip to Disney World for themselves and their family. To win, drivers/helpers had to have no preventable incidents and no call outs, for all of 2017. All drivers and helpers were qualified for this award program.
