Autism Speaks – Maria Ferraris

On Sunday October 2, 2016, Maria Ferraris and with her family and friends will be at Jones Beach for the Autism Speaks walk. 

I got to sit down with Maria a few days ago and she shared with me the importance of what this walk means to her and her family. David, Maria’s youngest son, was diagnosed with a slight case of Autism last August and it has really changed their lives.


NYPD 41st Precinct National Night Out

Thanks so much to the NYPD 41st Precinct for hosting last night’s National Night Out event! Everyone who attended had such an amazing night. Guests were treated to music from a live DJ, BBQ food cooked by NYPD officers, games, a bouncy house and even a dance number from the Police Athletic League (PAL) kids.


Volunteering in Nicaragua

Rob Staada and his son Tyler went on a special trip earlier this year to Nicaragua to help those in need. Tyler, a senior at Don Bosco Prep High School, was part of a group of 23 seniors that teamed up with Mama Margarita Foundation to help build a home, bring medical supplies, and volunteer.


The Conklin Scholarship Fund

The Conklin Scholarship Fund was established in 2010 by Derek Conklin as a way to honor the lives of Derek’s brothers, Chris and Ryan, both of whom passed away.  Two $2000 scholarships are awarded annually to a deserving male and female student, both who excel in academics and athleticism, much like Chris and Ryan once did.
