Action And The New York League of Conservation Voters

Our CEO, Ron Bergamini will be participating with the New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund event on a panel discussing the city’s zero waste goals.

By 2030 the city’s goal is to eliminate waste from going to landfills from residential buildings, commercial establishments, and other large generators of waste. In order to achieve the Zero Waste goal, the city needs to figure out solutions for various complex questions, like where the City’s residential and commercial waste will go instead of landfills and how will we get it there.

Ron, along with a couple other CEO’s and directors of other companies will be discussing hat is the most cost effective, environmentally sound and equitable way to collect organic waste, and how can it be done so that it enhances rather than detracts from the streetscape. Another panel will be going over how the lack of adequate processing capacity is a serious challenge. How can new technologies shape the City’s organics management efforts? Do the City’s marine transfer stations present an opportunity? What role should the state and city play in incentivizing/financing processing capacity?

Come register and join the NYLVC Education fund to discuss these topics as we work to chart the course to achieving the City’s 80 x 50 goal on Thursday, July 13th from 8:30 am- 12 pm
