New York, NY, March 27, 2017— The Action Environmental Group, the longtime, official solid waste and recycling provider for both the Yankees and the Mets, have decked out two of its trucks with the teams' logos as a tribute to NYC's baseball teams.

In honor of the beginning of baseball season, the trucks officially hit the road today, replacing Action’s standard trucks on the select routes throughout Queens and the Bronx. Throughout the season, those Action trucks will drive their routes in Manhattan and of course parts of the Bronx and Queens so that fans of the Mets and Yankees can see them and cheer on their teams.

Action Environmental Group CEO Ron Bergamini, said, “We’ve enjoyed working with the Yankees and Mets for all of these years and thought this would be a great way to pay tribute to the teams that call New York City home.”

Leeroy Freeman, driver of the Yankees Action truck said, “I see a lot of people looking, staring, smiling, waving- they’re going by but slowing down as soon as they see the Yankees sign.” He added, “It makes me feel like I’m a part of the team.”

The Mets are proud to once again partner with Action Carting to help keep Citi Field clean”, said Mets Senior Vice President of Ballpark Operations Mike Landeen.  “With Action’s guidance, we have implemented new environmental measures for both waste removal and recycling initiatives, and we appreciate their support and alignment.”

"We have a long-standing relationship with Action Carting with the branded truck program a feature of our Partnership," said Doug Behar, New York Yankees Senior Vice President of Stadium Operations. "We will continue to work with Action to enhance its leading brand, especially for the mutually successful sustainable programs we have jointly developed."

Action will run weekly social media contests for fans that spot the trucks out on the road, with a chance to win tickets to Yankees and Mets games. Contest dates and rules can be found by following @ActionCarting on Twitter.
